What is K/DA?
K/DA is a virtual K-pop group created by Riot Games for the game League of Legends. Its members are animated characters voiced by real singers, and the project has grown into a major crossover between gaming and K-pop.
What happened with the new release?
Riot Games released the track 'FIRESTARTER' along with an official music video on October 19, 2026. It is the group's first new music since its 2020 EP 'ALL OUT'. A new EP with the same title is scheduled for October 21, and pre-saves are already open on the group's official channels.
Who is on the new track?
Miyeon and Soyeon of (G)I-DLE rejoined the project, having previously voiced Ahri and Akali. This time they are joined by Canadian singer Sophie Powers and British singer Mimi Webb. The article also notes that Seraphine is not part of the four-member lineup returning for this release.
Why is the music video notable?
The video was produced with French animation studio Fortiche, the studio behind the Netflix series 'Arcane'. Fortiche also made the music video for K/DA's 2018 debut single 'POP/STARS'. That year's EP 'ALL OUT' contained five tracks, including 'VILLAIN', 'DRUM GO DUM', and 'I'LL SHOW YOU'.
For international fans
Fans who know K/DA through 'League of Legends' or 'Arcane' will find the new track a return to that world, with the 'Arcane' studio's animation style. The new EP arrives on October 21, so fans can check streaming platforms in their region for release details.
