The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced that the 'Sea 24 Hours: Book Trip' event will run at Anmok Beach in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, through October 25.
What is the Book Trip event?
The event is tied to the Gangneung Coffee Festival, which draws around 300,000 visitors a year. Organizers designed it so visitors can read and drink coffee by the sea and spend more time in the area.
What can visitors do?
The venue includes a book lounge with more than 200 books across four themes: sea-side meals, snap trips, Gangneung local content, and travel and coffee. Activities include a bookmark workshop, a 'sea wish travel spot' where visitors write down places they want to go, and a 'sea PICK photo spot' for pictures with books and the ocean.
Who is speaking?
Broadcaster Noh Hong-chul holds a book talk on October 24. Singer-songwriter and writer Yozoh and writer Kim Shin-hoi hold one on October 25.
For international fans
Noh Hong-chul is a longtime variety show personality in Korea, and Yozoh is known as a singer-songwriter and author. Gangneung is a coastal city on Korea's east coast, known for its coffee culture. Event details may change, so check with the organizers before visiting.
