What happened?

Actor Kim Kwang-kyu has finally bought a home in Seoul, according to a report from 10Asia. The news came up during the October 31 episode of MBC's variety show Running Man, where Kim appeared as a VIP guest and the cast acted as his daily managers.

Where did Kim move?

Kim had lived in Songdo, Incheon, where he bought a 50-pyeong condominium in 2021. On the show, he revealed his new home is in Yeonhui-dong, Seoul. He said he took out a loan to buy the property, which is a fully completed older building. Yoo Jae-suk asked whether it was a jeonse arrangement, and Kim said he had bought it outright.

Why was the move discussed?

Heo Kyeong-hwan had asked Kim whether he could move closer to the group to make things easier. Yoo said Songdo would have been ideal but hard to manage with schedules, and Joo Woo-jae noted that Yeonhui-dong feels much closer. Kim said it is near the Sangam area, where many broadcasts are filmed.

Other highlights from the episode

Kim said it took him 28 years to own a home in Seoul, and the members celebrated. The episode then moved on to a search for a new restaurant to replace a noodle shop that closed due to redevelopment. The group played a volleyball-style game to decide who would pay, and Kim lost the eye-contact game, so he paid for the first meal.
