Singer-songwriter Jonbak is the host and title character of 'Jonbak's Meal-Sama,' an original YouTube variety show from production company TEO. The show premieres October 30 at 6 p.m. Korean time on TEO's YouTube channel.

What is the show about?

The show is a healing food talk show. Jonbak and his friends share meals and conversation in comfortable, everyday settings. Instead of visiting well-known restaurants, each episode centers on places and dishes that reflect the guest's own taste, from neighborhood spots they trust to takeout meals eaten at their favorite hideout or studio.

Who is Jonbak?

Jonbak is a singer-songwriter known for his stable presence in music and his goofy, playful side on variety shows. He has built a following through cover songs of girl group hits and casual, relaxed posts on social media. On 'Meal-Sama,' he plays a warm listener who draws out his guests' stories.

What did the teaser show?

A first teaser was released today, October 23. It features Jonbak putting up flyers with his face on them, while someone takes them down one by one. The posters follow the same playful idea, with a spoon-shaped design and the line 'Anyone who needs a friend to buy them a meal?'

For international fans

Jonbak is best known for his music, and this show shows his more relaxed side. Because it is a YouTube original, fans outside Korea can watch it directly on TEO's channel once it premieres. Subtitle availability has not been announced in the source material.
