What is the Sunday mobile clinic?

Jeonnam Gwangju City has begun a mobile clinic program for foreign workers who find it difficult to visit hospitals during the week. According to Newsis, the city announced on October 18 that the clinics will run for three weeks, with the first session held the same day at the Naju City Public Health Center.

Where and when are the clinics held?

| Date | Location | |---|---| | October 18 | Naju City Public Health Center | | October 25 | Mokpo Municipal Medical Center | | November 1 | Suncheon Medical Center |

What services are available?

Foreign workers can receive health checkups, vaccinations, and visa consultations. The clinic also provides tuberculosis screening, blood tests, and primary care. Health education, first-aid medicine distribution, haircuts, and refreshments are offered as well.

Who is involved?

The program is run with the Korea Tuberculosis Association, Seegene Medical Foundation, the Jeonnam Pharmacists Association, Mokpo National University, Dongshin University, family centers, and migrant support organizations.

Why was the program started?

A city official said the goal is to help workers check their health and detect or prevent illness early. Because busy work schedules make hospital visits hard, the city plans to bring medical services directly to them.
