Brad Pitt stars in *Heart of the Beast*, a survival drama in which James, a retired special forces soldier, and his military dog Odin are stranded after their small plane crashes in the Alaskan wilderness. According to Yonhap News, the film opens in Korean theaters on October 28, 2026, runs 101 minutes, and is rated 12 and over.

## What is the story?

After leaving the military, James and Odin spend a quiet retirement fishing and watching wildlife in remote Alaska. Their peaceful life turns into a fight for survival when the plane goes down. Bears, unpredictable weather, and dangerous terrain such as a narrow log bridge push them to their limits.

## Who directed it?

David Ayer, known for *Suicide Squad* (2016) and *Beekeeper* (2023), directed the film. It marks his first project with Pitt since *Fury* (2014), 12 years ago.

## How was the wilderness made?

The production team shot on location in New Zealand and combined the real landscapes with visual effects on set. Pitt studied the habits of real special forces soldiers, and instructors from S.E.R.E. (survival, evasion, resistance, and escape) training helped shape his character.

## For international fans

The film is a Pitt action-survival project released after his box office hit *F1 The Movie* (2025). Pitt said the emotional story of the man and his dog was a key reason he chose the role. Fans outside Korea should check local release dates and platforms for their own region.
